This meticulously selected SS+ grade Pu-erh ripe tea hails from one of China’s most renowned tea growing regions: Bulang Mountain. The tea leaves are sourced from ancient tea trees aged over 500 years, growing at an altitude exceeding 1,800 meters. These authentic ancient tea trees produce a tea that is exceptionally durable and smooth in taste, without any bitterness or astringency. The fermentation process is carried out using pure mountain spring water from Bulang Mountain, resulting in a more mellow and refined flavor. Pu-erh ripe tea is made from Yunnan big-leaf variety sun-dried mao cha and undergoes a unique pile-fermentation process. The tea has a reddish-brown color and a harmonious taste, with a distinctive aged aroma. Pu-erh ripe tea is known for its mild and nourishing properties, including its ability to nourish and protect the stomach, provide warmth, and lower blood lipids.

The infusion color of the tea is a rich and bright red. Depending on the degree of fermentation, it can range from a chestnut red when lightly fermented to a dark red when heavily fermented. The taste of ripe Pu-erh tea is mellow and full-bodied, with a smooth and lubricating mouthfeel. It is pure and refreshing, with a soft and lingering sweetness that leaves no bitter or astringent aftertaste.

Brewing Method for Pu-erh Ripe Tea:

  1. It is recommended to use a gaiwan or a porous purple clay teapot for brewing Pu-erh ripe tea.
  2. To enhance the aroma, use water at a higher temperature, and pour it quickly into the teapot.
  3. When rinsing the tea with boiling water, open the lid of the teapot to allow the tea to “wake up.” Use high-temperature water (100°C) to rinse the tea and remove any impurities.
  4. After rinsing, lower the temperature slightly before brewing. For teas with a lower fermentation level, you can keep the lid half-open for the first three infusions to help disperse the “ripened” flavor.
  5. After rinsing the tea for 30 seconds, pour out the first infusion within 5 seconds. For subsequent infusions, adjust the steeping time according to your taste, usually within 5-30 seconds.
